I just purchased -- and finished "The Kiss of Death," and I loved it! I've not read your work before, but I certainly will in the future. I figured out part of the plot, but could not put all the pieces together and it kept me intrigued throughout -- to the very end. Thank you for very enjoyable reading.

Hi Meryl, I just finished reading one of your books, Better Off Dead, and I loved it! This is the first one of your books that I have read and I couldn't put it down! The characters were very memorable and Chad and Samantha were perfect together. I'd marry Chad myself if I could find him! I also enjoyed all of the descriptions and history about Hawaii. The book was given to me by a co-worker who had recently read it and enjoyed it. I will look for your other books in the future and visit your guest book again. Thanks for the joy your book gave me in an otherwise pretty routine life.

Your characters are so strong. This includes the men. I have read several of your books and am re-reading A Kiss in the Dark. I read your bio and you did not mention friends. Your stories always have strong friendships. I have a friend, Barbara, who could be one of your heroines. She is the center of a large group of friends. Some, like me, are work friends. Several are lifelong childhood friends. Others are college friends. She stands by all of them through heartbreak, illness and death. She was divorced, (deserted for a cocktail waitress by her basketball pro husband) and remarried in June 2001. The 2nd husband had 3 children. His wife walked out on him and the kids after spending all their money on a nose job and a boob job. It was not a dream marriage by any stretch. The children resented her and 2 who had been away to college returned home to finish school. We work at LaGuardia Airport and she has a 60 mile commute to Long Island. Last June, her dream man Army Colonel husband was sent to Iraq with his Reserve Unit. While he was away, she sent weekly packages, letters, e-mails, daily phone calls and one trip to Jordan when he was called there for a special conference. Barbara turned 50 in November. Just after Thanksgiving, her father was taken ill very suddenly and died. He was a veteran of the D Day invasion. He was on Omaha Beach. He had been a lifeguard and this helped his survival. He was still playing tennis and rode his mountain bike given to him by his 7 children on his 75th birthday. The Army let her husband come home for the funeral and stay 1 week. On Memorial Day, on the way to the Long Island National Cemetery where their father is buried, her family heard Barbara's husband being interviewed by NPR. At the end of the interview he was asked what Memorial Day meant to him and he just broke down and spoke of her father and what a hero he was and how he could now appreciate all he did. Last week, Barbara went to Ft. Bragg to meet her husband when he got off the plane. She is there right now and has e-mailed me that she is back to doing his laundry. When I read your books, I think of Barbara and her life. I have known her for 10 years and before that, I would have thought of your main characters as being unbelievable. If you don't write a book about Barbara, maybe I will.

If you will remember me when I had the magazine Romance Reviews, you will remember that I have always been an avid fan and still am. I always look for your latest release. Good thing I look because it is never displayed or easy to find. Makes me mad that it isn't promoted like it should be. I see you are with a different publisher and that your style has been altered some. Hmm, not sure that's a good thing. I liked the OLD sawyer style. Still, I'll give it a good review on my web site (featured your biography last June) in March. And, thanks for all the pleasureable,dependably-good-every-time reading. Donna

Hi, I had to tell tou how much I enjoyed "BETTER OFF DEAD". It gripped me from the first page and never let go.It is your fault that I went to work on only four hours sleep.I have several favourite authors and now you have joined their ranks. These are the ones that I do not have to read the back of the book before deciding to buy it.If I have one complaint it is that it ended too soon. There was all that built up tension and then it was all over. I prefer a bit more of a wrap up,and what happened to the kid? Having said that, let me repeat, the main reason for this message is to say, keep it coming. Thankyou. Susanne Gale

Read Tempting Fate and want to say it is one of the best novels I have read. I was just about in tears near the end of the story thinking that Logan had not survived. Keep up the good work.

I couldn't activate the link for your "Let's Talk" page, so I'm posting my comments here, in hopes you and your readers will see them. In "Lady Killers" one of your reporters states that HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is "not as serious" as some of the other STDs. That information is dangerously incorrect. Please note: some strains of the HPV can lead to cell changes that will cause CERVICAL CANCER. I'd call that pretty serious! Please check your information carefully before making a misleading statement like that! You are right, however, that a routine Pap smear can detect both the HPV and cervical cancer.

I couldn't get to "Let's Talk" so I am posting this here. You've probably already heard this more than once, but in chapter 2 of "Lady Killer" it says "the Forty-Niners night game with the Dodgers." That won't ever happen - the Forty-Niners are a football team and the Dodgers are a baseball team *S* Other than that - really enjoyed the book

Very much enjoyed "Lady Killer" ... but some research would help, i.e.: The 49ers play football, the Giants are a baseball team .. no way they played a game ... Sacramento is not south of San Francisco ... a few others, but those were pretty big. If you are going to use real things, would be less distracting if they were real! This was the first book of yours I have read, but will now go back and read them all ... thanks for an enjoyable read!

Ladykiller is great--I was wondering why the drug you refer to kill Warren is succinyl chlorine? An editorial mistake? Is it that you meant succinylcholine? I haven't seen such an oversight before. Just wanted to bring it to your editors attention so it can be fixed with reprint. It looks a bit silly, hard to take "seriously"

I'm reading Lady Killer now and enjoying it.I do have a question. You listed succinyl chorine as the cause of death for Warren.I've never heard of this, but I am well acquainted with succinylcholine & it's effects. That drug was administered to me in 1968 & I almost died as a result.I know succnylcholine has been used to murder people, but never heard of succinyl chorine. Is this a new drug? I would appreciate if you would let me know.I've never read your books before, but will buy them from now on as I think they're fast reading & I don't want to put this one down.Thank you for looking into this question & giving me an answer. Meryl, I had the pleasure of meeting you and your husband many years back in California when we were together at a dinner party (due to our husband's business connection). I believe you were just writing your first book which you kindly sent me a copy of at that time. I now find I'm several books behind and am searching high and low to find the ones I'm missing. I'll also leave a message on Let's Talk.

Dear Ms. Sawyer , The editors of Contemporary Authors (CA) would like to include an entry on you and your career in an upcoming volume of the series (in publication since 1962). CA is published by Gale, ( www.gale.com ), a publishing company in the academic/reference division of Thomson International. We are missing some basic biographical information on you. Would you be willing to fill out a questionnaire on line at http://www.gale-edit.com/cas/ca_form2.htm ? I could also mail or fax you a copy of the questionnaire. There is no charge to you for an entry in CA. It offers the opportunity to make information about you and your work available to an even wider range of readers and researchers. Many thanks for giving this your consideration -- Marie Lazzari, editork Gale/Thomson Learning

I love your books! I noticed one of your books in the book store, read the back cover and decided to give it a try; and that was it after reading it I was hooked. I went back and eventually bought every book I could get my hands on. I have just found your site, so now I have all of the older book titles I can search for. If there is a list of all your book titles, I would really love to know where to find it. For now I will look for the ones I know of. I have been an avid reader for years and collect several authors, I wish I had found you sooner. But now that I have you are certainly one of my favorite authors and I just have to say I love your PET TALK page. I have a 13 year old GOlDEN Named MAX and he is a joy, I love him more than I can say. I have always loved dogs and I love reading books where they have a large role. That is another reason why I love your books! So please keep writing...and if your older books are really hard to find please consider re-publishing. Thanks for all the hours of great reading!

Meryl, I rescued Buffy (apx 6 months old), a very abused lab-terrier dog, from a kill shelter, one day away from death in 1991. If one held up any type of stick, from a ruler to a mop, she would cower and shake and just seeing a vacuum would send terroe into her. She and I became one and when she passed on at 12 years,(she was quite ill and at the vets), I knew the second it happened. I sat at the table with tears streaming down within 5 min the vet called to tell me what I already knew. Buffy also came back 2 days later to say she didn't want to go, but I told her she had to go and find Misty (my Mom's dog) and I would see both of them 'later'. Buffy is beside me constantly and I have felt her 'nose' me. I have seen her in the slider door walking to me and have felt her 'nose' my leg many times for attention. I lasted 10 days and then, with her blessing, went and rescued Mocha (a schnoodle) who Buffy helped me pick. Buffy was cremated and I have her ashes, which ended up beside my bed after being placed all over the house. The only way I came to terms from her passing was to personally eulogize her by writing a letter as to how and why she was 'chosen' to her leaving me. Only after doing this was I able to move on. We only have them for to short time and their love is forever. The two things I did for Mocha's protection was put a chip in he,r and to designate in writing, a named friend to care for her should I or my family not be able to and you need to not only pass this on but to stress this to all pet owners. Unprotected family pets end up in shelters and then are usually put down. Please stress this. Meryl, there are 3 types of people in this world, animal haters, animal lovers and the pet lover. Yesterday I found an old copy of "Never Kiss a Stranger". It was a signed copy dedicated to Janice with a cute message of thanks for the help with certain scenes. It is in good condition considering how far and long it travelled. I am delighted!Still hunting for "Blind Chance". Hope you keep writing for a long time. Thank you and all the best! Helga

I finally have your complete collection. I tracked down the last 2 books which were the historical Love's Lyin' Eyes that you wrote under Meryl Nickels and the anthology story Chocolate Fantasy - both were excellent.
